What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Statement of Faith

Jesus Christ

Jesus is God the Son who is the only person to be completely human and completely God. He lived a perfect life, performed miracles, died on the cross for our sin, and rose from the dead, and ascended to Heaven as the Bible describes - to demonstrate His power over sin and death. We believe that Jesus is the only one who can reconcile us to God and that he is coming back again as He promised.

Matthew 1:22-23, John 1:1-5, Philippians 2:5-6, John 20:28, Hebrews 4:14-15

The Bible

The Bible is the authoritative written Word of God – inspired, infallible, and inerrant. It was written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and serves as the source of God’s doctrinal truths. It’s central theme of redemption points to Jesus’s life and ministry. It contains testimonies, historical events, and is the source of truth and wisdom on how to live a Godly life.

Psalm 119:105, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Romans 16:25-26

The Trinity

We believe that there is one God, existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (The Trinity). Each member of the Trinity serves a different function, yet each holds equal power and authority.
God the Father is the Creator, who is all-powerful, all-knowing, never-changing, ever-present, completely holy.

Jesus is the Son of God. He is our mediator and advocate. 1 Timothy 2:5, 1 John 2:1

The Holy Spirit lives in the heart of every believer from the moment of salvation. His guidance and continual presence give Christians understanding of spiritual truth in doing what is right and convicts people of their sin. He empowers us to live and bear witness to Jesus Christ. He helps us develop a fruitful Christian life. Galatians 5:22-23

The Holy Spirit also works in other ways in the life of the Christian. The baptism in the Holy Spirit follows salvation, and is available for every believer - to empower us in our witness and service to God. We believe the initial physical evidence of this baptism is speaking in other tongues (Matthew 3:11, Acts 2:1-4; 38, 19:1-7). The Holy Spirit also gives us spiritual gifts (I Corinthians 12:4-11).

Luke 3:22, Matthew 28:19, John 14:26, Ephesians 2:18

The Reconciliation & Salvation

Man was created in the image of God, however mankind’s sin resulted in both physical and spiritual death that created a separation from God. Jesus died on the cross in exchange for the sins of man. Every person has the opportunity for salvation if we repent of our sins and accept Jesus into our hearts.

Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12, I John 1:8-10, 1 John 3:4-6

The Church

The Church is the Body of Christ that is comprised of all those who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The Bible directs all believers to gather together regularly in worship, teaching and fellowship.

Acts 2:42-47, Acts 13:1-3, Hebrews 10:25

Separation from God

We believe that we can only be saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We are all sinners, but in order to receive forgiveness from God, we need to repent of our sins, put our faith and trust in
Jesus, and commit our lives to following him. This salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good deeds or any other human efforts. It is only by trusting in Jesus Christ that we can be spared from eternal separation from God in Hell and have life with him in Heaven after death.

Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 1:12, Romans 10:9-10
